Our photographers and product developers work hard on ensuring that all of our photography accurately depicts the colour of any given product so that you can be sure you're getting exactly what you need! Due to each customer's respective screen resolution or computer/phone settings, some colour representation may vary slightly between the image and the physical product.
Yes, Miss Dolla products are strictly for customers who have been professionally trained in gel nail polish application.
Yes, however, every brand makes sure all the products are compatible within the same range. We cannot guarantee results when using products from another brand.
Miss Dolla polishes are specially formulated to avoid nail damage and are easy to remove using acetone wraps or an electric nail file.
Soft gel polish can also protect the nail from external factors which may cause breakage or products which may dry out the nail plate. Additionally, if you are using a base coat with vitamins in it, this will strengthen the nail plate.
If you have had gel nails for years, it is sometimes advisable to take a break for a couple of weeks to allow your nails to ‘breathe’ so the oxygen can get to the nail plate. It is important that the nail technician applies the nails correctly and with hygienic tools.
Additionally, correct removal of the gel polish is essential in order to protect the nail from any damage. Do not peel off gel polish from the nail.
Miss Dolla polishes give you up to 4 weeks of wear, with no chipping, peeling or cracking.
Manicure retention will depend entirely on the correct preparation of the nail bed, polish application and exposure to moisture/chemicals.
Yes, you can, however, nail art gels are specially designed to have a slightly thicker consistency to allow you to create gorgeous designs without any colours bleeding into each other. If you are using Miss Dolla for nail art, you need to make sure you cure each step under the lamp as you go.
Miss Dolla gel polishes are a soft gel, in comparison to BIAB, Poly Gel and Hard Gel. Soft gel polish isn’t suitable to build an extension on the nail. You may be able to build the nail slightly if you are trained and experienced in working with soft gel polishes, however, to build length in the nail or create strength, you will need to use a specially designed builder gel.
If your client has very weak nails and your goal is to build strength in the nail plate, the product you may choose to use instead of gel polish is liquid builder gel (BOB/BIAB). This product provides a flexible and durable coating, protects nails, promotes natural healthy nail growth, and evens out the nail plate surface.
Liquid builder is polymerised in a UV/LED lamp same as gel nail polish. The wear period is up to 3 weeks, after which it could be either professionally removed with the drill or infilled.
Before applying gel nail polish or liquid builder gel (BIAB / BOB) always apply a base with rubber fibres in it first. It will protect the nail from colouring pigments and even out the nail plate surface.
If your client has a broken or split nail plate, it is not advised to perform a gel manicure treatment on them for several reasons:
1 - it risks infection if there is an open wound
2- a polish will cover the area which will make it hard for the client to monitor any changes happening underneath the nail (i.e discolouration)
We’d advise leaving the nails alone to repair and cover before applying products, as allowing the oxygen to reach the nail matrix will help to build strong cells when growing. Once the nails are nearly healed, you could apply a vitamin base to strengthen the nail back up.
Storage
To look after your Miss Dolla gel polishes, store them in a cool, dark place and do not expose them to natural sunlight. Light exposure can promote discolouration, and fading of the pigment. Additionally, time in sunlight can pre-cure the product, causing it to go hard inside the bottle and on the brush.
You'll also need to make sure you keep your bottles away from your UV/LED lamp when in use as any exposure to light can cause the gel polish to cure in the bottle and become hard and lumpy.
Miss Dolla polishes have a shelf life of 18 months from opening and 3 years before opening. After 18 months, the pigment may separate from the product and it will not work correctly.
The product inside the gel bottle may start to cure due to incorrect storage or exposure to LED/UV or sunlight during application.

Nail Preparation
Prepping the nails before applying gel colour is advised, as it will increase the longevity of the manicure. Miss Dolla’s pH bond is advised as it is specially formulated to dry out the nail plate to prepare the nail for strong adhesion.
Here are the steps to prepare the nails for a Miss Dolla gel manicure:
1. Always wash and sanitise hands and nails before the treatment. Dust, dirt or oils can influence the retention.
2. Prep the nail bed by pushing back the cuticles using an orange nail stick or cuticle pusher. Trim the cuticles with cuticle nippers/scissors if necessary.
3. Shape the nails into the desired shape using a 180 grit nail file, then gently buff the nails using 220/240 grit nail file to remove any shine and smooth the surface.
4. Brush all dust and residue off, then soak lint-free wipes with an alcohol-based nail prep solution and wipe and rub each nail, carefully removing any leftovers.
5. Apply Miss Dolla pH Bond to adjust the pH of the nail plate to create the perfect base for strong adhesion.

It is recommended to use a prepping solution such as pH Bond before applying gel colour, as it will increase the longevity of the manicure.
The Miss Dolla pH Bond nail prep formula will balance the pH of your nails, improving the surface area of the nail plate in preparation for the gel polish application. Miss Dolla pH Bond is specifically formulated to protect the gel polish against the creation of air pockets or lifting of the product.
PH Bond formula is science in a bottle, which gives perfect, long-lasting results every time!
- Removes excess oil
- Balances pH of nails
- Increases adhesion of the gel polish to the natural nail
- Improves retention
- Can be used before any nail treatment
Yes. Shaking the bottle before use helps ensures all the ingredients are well mixed to give you the perfect viscosity, making it easier to apply and helping to spread the polish evenly.
Unlike regular polish, shaking gel polish will not cause air bubbles in the formula. It is a must to ensure all the ingredients in the gel polish are well mixed for a smooth and thin application.

Miss Dolla Non-Acidic Primer is a preparation product, to be used before starting to apply any gel polish. The primer works like double-sided tape, improving the adhesion of the gel polish to the natural nail. Combined with Miss Dolla pH Bond which balances the pH of your nails, Miss Dolla Primer guarantees improved retention and a perfectly prepared surface area of the nail plate for the gel polish application. Miss Dolla Primer is specifically formulated to protect the gel polish against the creation of air pockets or lifting of the product.
Miss Dolla Rubber Base is designed to give extra strength to flaky, brittle, thin or splitting nails. It is designed to sculpt and strengthen uneven and brittle nails, whilst providing coating toughness, elasticity and maximum wear resistance.
After the preparation of the nail plate and nail bed:
- Apply Miss Dolla PH Bond on each nail to adjust the PH of the nail plate and remove any oils. Wait a few seconds for the product to evaporate.
- Apply Miss Dolla Primer to each nail to create the perfect base for strong adhesion.
- Apply a thin layer of the Miss Dolla Rubber Base Coat, ensuring you seal the free edge of the nail.
- Cure the Miss Dolla Rubber Base Coat under a LED or UV lamp. Cure for 30 secs/1 min under LED light and 2 mins under UV light.
- Start the application of the chosen colour of Miss Dolla Gel Polish.
Both UV and LED light are suitable for curing Miss Dolla gel polish.
Simply cure each layer of polish for 30 secs/1 min under LED light and 2 mins under UV light.
No, you do not need to wipe the top layer after curing if using Miss Dolla Diamond Top Coat. This high gloss and scratch-resistant top coat leaves no dispersion layer. You can touch it after curing and it will be hardened and dry. Once cured under the light, do not touch for 1-2 minutes to allow the nail to cool down.
How to use:
After you cured the second layer of Miss Dolla Gel Polish, apply a thin layer of the Miss Dolla Diamond Top Coat, again sealing the free edge of the nail, and cure it under the LED or UV light (60-90 seconds under the LED lamp and 180 seconds under the UV lamp). Miss Dolla Diamond Top Coat does not require wiping after curing in the lamp.
Yes, you can. You can apply Miss Dolla onto plastic tips, however, you will still need to build the nail to hide the step and smooth the surface.
Miss Dolla is suitable to use as a colour on top of acrylic nails too.
Aftercare & Removal
Due to the premium strength of the polish, removal normally takes 15-20 minutes and involves filing the top coat off and soaking the nails with acetone foil wraps (same as with any professional gel nail removal).
Steps for removal:
- Buff the top, shiny layer from the Diamond Top Coat with a gentle nail file.
- Soak a cotton pad with an acetone gel polish remover, put it on the nail and fix it with an aluminium wrap.
- Wait for 5-10 mins and slide off the gel polish with a wooden orange nail stick. Gently remove the traces of the gel polish with a 220 grit nail buffer and polish your nails for an extra shine using a shine buffer.
- Alternatively, you can use an electric nail file to remove old gel polish.
- Wash the hands, apply cuticle oil and hand cream.
Cuticle oil or any other moisturising hand creams will not affect how long the manicure lasts.
When you have finished your manicure, wait until the top coat has cured and cooled down before applying cuticle oil.
Correct preparation of the nail plate is nearly as important as the application itself in order to ensure the manicure lasts up to 3-4 weeks. Ensure you have followed all the steps correctly, sealing the free edge of the nail with every step.
How long the gel manicure lasts on each client can also depend on the client’s lifestyle (i.e do they work with their hands frequently) and also the health of the nail plate itself.
Here are some aftercare tips you can give to your clients:
- Apply cuticle oil to your nail beds every day in order to improve the health of your nails as they grow
- Always wear gloves when doing general household cleaning and gardening. Moisture, chemicals and hard labour are all things that can affect the longevity of your gel manicure.
- Avoid using your nails as tools to pull open or pick at anything.
- Ensure to always have gel polish professionally removed.
Troubleshooting
If finishing with Miss Dolla Diamond Top Coat, after curing under the UV or LED lamp (60-90 seconds under the LED lamp and 180 seconds under the UV lamp), the nail should not feel sticky or wet. There is no dispersion layer with Diamond Top Coat, so there is no need to wipe with any finishing solution to cleanse the sticky layer from the gel. You can touch it after curing and it will be hardened and dry. Once cured under the light, do not touch, or apply cuticle oil, for 1-2 minutes to allow the nail to cool down.
If you are finding that the nails are sticky or wet after curing, it may be the case that you have applied the polish too thickly, which hasn’t allowed the light to penetrate through the pigment and cure the gel properly.
If you’re finding that the gel isn’t curing in the recommended time ( 30 secs/1 min under LED light and 2 mins under UV light), it may be the case that you have applied each gel layer too thick, which would prevent the light from penetrating through the pigment and curing the polish.
We recommend ensuring you are applying each layer in thin and even coats. Thicker coats, or heavier pigment colours (such as white), may need to be cured for longer.
Our estimated curing time may differ between different lamps and the thickness of the gel layers applied.
Miss Dolla polishes are for professional use only and are uniquely designed to give you up to 4 weeks' wear, with no chipping, peeling or cracking.

To look after your Miss Dolla gel polishes, store them in a cool, dark place and do not expose them to natural sunlight. Light exposure can promote discolouration, and fading of the pigment.
If you have hardened gel polish on the brush, this may have been caused by applying the gel polish in direct sunlight, or with a UV/LED lamp on near the brush itself, causing the polish to begin to cure.
To remove hardened polish from the brush, you can soak your brush in gel polish remover (acetone), and this will get rid of the hardened gel.
This will have been caused by the underneath layers not having been cured sufficiently before applying the next layer. If the layers underneath are still wet, this will be causing peeling and slipping of the layers on top.
It is normal for the gel colour layers to feel sticky after curing, as they do have a dispersion layer. Simply ensure each layer is applied in even and thin coats and cure for the correct amount of time under LED or UV light, before finishing with the no-wipe Miss Dolla Diamond Top Coat for a high-gloss, flexible and scratch-resistant finish.
